Could the vets probe have hurt my little guy?

My ten week old male kitten went to the vet for the first time today. The vet had a really hard time getting a stool sample with the probe. I've NEVER had a cat have such a bad reaction to a probe. Now, for the first time since I've had him, he's had some blood under his tail after going to the litter box. He had no parasites at all and has never had a loose or bloody stool before. Could the probe have hurt him to make him bleed?
