Is Obama a good candidate?

my friend told me Obama was friends with a terrorist. is that true? she wouldn't be the person to lie. if it is true then doesn't that make obama well not good. i mean seriously..if he was friends with a terrorist. i ask this question simply out of curiousity so yeah..thanx
