Tips for a beginner skateboarder?

I got a skateboard because I thought it would be cool and it just ended up collecting dust in the corner of my room. Now I wanna learn how to skate but I always fall :( Any tips? And no, I don't want to do ollies and tricks and stuff yet, I just want to learn how to get from point A to point B.
