I'm a limey but American at heart how do i get to live in the country i love the most,the USA?

Ok so it's my turn to ask i am a brit and i hate britain, i have no ties binding me here, but there is agirl in the US i am deaperately in love with and she loves me too, but for certain reasons i can'tjust marry her to get a green card and even if i could i would refuse to, i love her for her not American Citizenship if we are to get married it is going to be for love, for our hearts, nothing more, nothing less and nothing material. i dont haveany fantastic amazing skills, i am a good artist but dont have the necessary qualifications to teach, but i am a pretty good writer too and would love to be a journalist/columnist of some sort. i love kool aid and root beer, but American chocolate is disgusting, but i could live with that, i know more of the US Presidents, in order of succession than i do uk prime ministers at all (only know about five)and i know i would love live baseball, and i learned my "screw yous" from the best NYC cabbies on the telly and movies. So can anyone help please? where do i start? how long can i live in America without a greencard? would i be able to get work there as a journalist or columnist? are there any specific reasons they would not let people into the country to live? do i have a hope of getting this dream? i love my gal with all my heart and soul and i love America and Americans, i reaaly need to be there that is wheremy heart belongs. please do help if you can. blessed be and thank you in advanced for all your help and advice.
