Leonardo da Vinci? Please Help..?

I dont think it is a question of "seeing into the future". He was, simply, intellectually brilliant. I think perhaps modern people are influenced by him. In terms of his influences I think that his designs for air machines, eg, are inspired by the need for war machines in his era. I also think he observed nature closely.
