Do Florida State Troopers usually go to court?

I got a speeding ticket recently and received a very hefty fine. I accept that I was speeding, and that I should just suck it up and pay the fine, but I'm 17, and if there's a way out of something, might as well take the chance. I was thinking that since the officer that pulled me over was a state trooper, that maybe he might not show considering that he has to protect ALL of Florida, and the court case is in one small part of Florida. In any case, do you think I can reduce my fine (since it is my first offense), be able to get a payment plan, take any points off, or even get the case dismissed?
